Special Operations Division

History

Initially formed in 1988, with 1 Detective from the Louisa County Sheriff's Office and one Agent from the State Police, the Louisa Narcotics Task Force was given the mission of investigating drug distribution cases. In 2008, Sheriff Fortune reorganized this unit into the Special Operations Division, which now consists of the Narcotics Task Force, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), the part-time Special Response Team (SRT) and the Gang Task Force.

We are now a 6-person unit tasked with working special investigations. Most cases are worked as a Team Approach and continued to be investigated until a successful conclusion is reached.
