Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center

Betty J. Queen Intergenerational Center is managed by Louisa County Parks and Recreation. The center is equipped with various-sized rooms available for rent for meetings and social events. For a minimum of 3 hours, which includes set up and clean up time, the Great Room, our largest room, requires a $50 per hour rental fee (plus a deposit of $100 which will be refunded within 30 days providing the room is returned to it’s original condition).  The kitchen at the Betty Queen Center is not available for public use. A kitchenette is available for rent in the Craft Room. Meeting Room and Craft Room rental fees may apply depending on reason for meeting and/or time of meeting.

Betty Queen Center Playground
Available for citizens of Louisa County is the Betty Queen Center playground area, which includes a large play structure with spiral slide, wave slide, and zip slide, a clover leaf climber, and a mega rock climber. There is also a sky runner, swings, and a whirlwind seat. Also included is a fun-semble musical station. This play area is for elementary school aged youth.

Betty Queen Center Pavilion
This pavilion located across from the Louisa Aquatic Facility at 530 Industrial Drive is available to rent for your birthday party or small event. Included are six picnic tables and two charcoal grills. The fee is $20 for a three hour rental reservation. Security deposit of $25 is required, but will be refunded providing area is left clean after use.

Fitness Trail & Workout Equipment
Wrapped around the playground area, Health Department, aquatic facility, and the back of the Betty Queen Center is a fitness trail available for all Louisa citizens. As part of the trail, there is fitness equipment (air walker, back stretch machine, chest press, rowing machine, sit up board, dip bar, and push up bar) which can be used to enhance workout. Open daylight hours.

Bumpass-Buckner Park

Located at 70 Bumpass-Buckner Park off Bumpass Road, this 18-acre community park includes picnic shelter and tables, playground equipment, and walking trail. Pavilion reservations are available by contacting Louisa County Parks & Recreation.

Christopher Run Campground

Christopher Run Campground is a family run business. Three generations of the Bazzanella family are involved in the day to day operations, so camping here is not just going to a resort its like coming home. The campground has 200 campsites, a lakeside group camping area, 10 cabins and 5 full service lodges. Canoes and jon boats are available for rent. There is a playground, a beach area, mini golf, a game room, a 50 wet slip marina, 6 boat ramps, a laundry room, bathhouses and a large air conditioned pavilion. Located on 13,600 acre Lake Anna, there is fun for the whole family. The whole family will enjoy mini golfing along beautiful Lake Anna. Open to the public.

Lake Anna State Park has more than 13 miles of hiking trails, lakeshore picnicking, a guarded swimming beach, a children’s play area, a boat ramp, a food concession stand, a bathhouse and a children’s and handicapped fishing pond.

Louisa Town Park

This town park has playground equipment for elementary and preschool age children, picnic tables, walking trail, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and picnic shelter. This passive park is located at 108 Meadow Avenue in the town of Louisa. The pavilion may be reserved by contacting Louisa County Parks and Recreation.

Rising Sun Community Park

Located at 7071 Fredericks Hall Road on the property of the Rising Sun Community Building, this park includes playground equipment and swings for neighborhood youth. There is a basketball court for teens and adults. Picnic tables are available for use. The park is maintained by Louisa County Parks and Recreation and available to the public each day until dark.

Small Country Campground

Enjoy plenty of fun and relaxation, and the 25-acre Lake Ruth Ann, featuring excellent fishing, boating and swimming. Sunbathe on the sun-drenched beaches, or fish for bass, crappie, bream or catfish. Boat rentals available plus a free boat ramp. More than 200 RV and tent sites with all the amenities. 13 Units for Lodging/Vacation rentals. Pavilion for rent and two-lakeside locations for picturesque weddings, family reunions and more. Activities onsite include mini golf, pool, lake toys and an oversized bouncy pillow. Open to the public and offering great recreation including a new championship mini-golf course, a giant bouncing pillow, giant lake toys, fire truck rides, and more.
